About ICS Ops
What ICS stands for
Short version: Integrated Core Systems. Longer version below.
The short answer
ICS stands for Integrated Core Systems. The product is marketed as ICS Ops - "Ops" is the product-line tail, in the same way Lambda or RDS sits behind AWS. Day to day you will see us called ICS or ICS Ops; the long form Integrated Core Systems appears on legal documents, the privacy notice, and regulatory filings to identify the trading entity.
What we are not
If you searched for "ICS" cold, the first results are usually about industrial control systems in the cyber-security sense - SCADA, PLCs, NIST SP 800-82, IEC 62443, OT security tooling. That is a different meaning of the same three letters. We are not that.
We are the operations platform that runs the rest of the business once the machinery is making things. Inventory, orders, accounts, jobs, equipment, invoicing, deliveries, manufacturing scheduling, and quality records - all in one place, on one data model, on a phone or a tablet on the shop floor.
Why "Integrated Core Systems"
- Integrated because it really is one product, one login, one data model. Most SMEs we meet are paying for four or five separate tools that pretend to talk to each other.
- Core because it is the central system that runs the business, not a peripheral add-on. If it goes down, the shop stops. So we hold ourselves to that standard.
- Systems because the surface area spans 21 modules covering procurement through dispatch, plus customer and supplier portals, plus a mobile shop-floor app. It is plural by design.
